The grill brings some heat on the new Jordan Maxin 200. With a nod to some memorable predecessors, Michael Jordanβs signature line keeps finding ways to reinvent itself and stay strictly on point.
Once and Again
The Maxin 200 isnβt the first Jordan shoe to draw from previous Air Jordan models and inspire a whole new look. The Jordan 6 Rings is one of the more memorable examples, drawing from each of the six Air Jordan models MJ wore on his way to a championship. For its part, the Maxin 200 takes its cues mostly from the Air Jordan V and its mesh midfoot panel. It lives again on the Maxin 200 as a built-up polyurethane grill panel. The larger mesh openings let contrasting underlays show through for hits of color.
The Maxin 200 also recalls subtler details from previous AJs, including a mesh midfoot panel visible on the Retro 4, and carve-outs revealing the Air Sole unit that was first seen in the Retros 3 through 5. Several colorways even put some shine on the upper, around the foxing, that brings to mind the patent leather of the always-hot Retro 11.
Whatβs New to ViewΒ
There is a first on the Maxin 200. Itβs the first to feature Max Air 200 cushioning, designed to put 200% more Air under foot, the most ever. The outsole offers translucent (βfrostyβ) panels under the heel and forefoot, where youβll find the iconic Jumpman logo sealed protectively away. Youβll also find the Jumpman on the heels, beneath the colored-up pull tabs, and on the tongues and printed inside on the insoles.
And with sizes available for men and kids, youβll find something for everyone.
